My favorite interface project!

The Henri Cartier-Bresson exhibit was opening at The Smithsonian, and The Post had the rights to the curated pieces that were in the exhibit.

The goal was to be able to access all the photos non-linearly. There were 68 images. A carousel? No. Sixty-eight thumbnails? No.

I designed a "contact sheet" icon representing the number of photographs grouped into 3 sets. As the user rolls over the contact sheet, the name of the portrait is displayed in purple so you can quickly browse all of the images without having to "click" on each image. When the title is white, you are viewing the person whose name appears.

Designed before smart phones. The editorial is still live.
